Fantasy Flight Games publishes more about Star Wars: Unlimited packs than almost any other publisher on our shelves: the pack structure, the Legendary rare-slot rate, the hyperspace floors, the Prestige overlay and the Showcase leader rate are all stated. That is unusual, and it is why this page can print numbers at all.
It does not mean everything is known. Where FFG is silent — the mix inside a foil slot, the leader rarity split — we say assumed and we say it on the row itself. The same rates drive our Star Wars: Unlimited Pack Lab, so what you read here is exactly what the simulator rolls.
What a pack contains, and what it costs
Structure first, because structure is the part with a source. Everything in this table is either printed on the product or counted by us from the August 25, 2026 snapshot.
| What | Figure | Provenance |
|---|---|---|
| Cards per pack | 16 (SOR–LOF era) · 16 (LAW+ era) | official structure |
| Packs per booster box | 24 | retailer-listed |
| Boxes per case | 6 | retailer-listed |
| Foil / hit slots per pack | 1 | official structure |
| Cheapest sealed booster box we hold a price for | Twilight of the Republic — $35.78 | counted by InkSight |
| Cost per pack at that box price | $1.49 | counted by InkSight |
On the August 25, 2026 snapshot the cheapest sealed booster box we hold a confident price for is Twilight of the Republic at $35.78 — $1.49 a pack across 24 packs, 384 cards to the box. That division is honest. Multiplying it against the expectation table below is not a valuation: expected value needs a price for every possible card, and the tiers with no published rate are missing from the arithmetic by design.
That listing is the only guaranteed number in this section: a real SKU at a real snapshot price. What comes out of it is the probabilistic part, and that starts with the tier everybody is actually asking about.
Slot by slot
The pack changed shape between the first six sets and the LAW era. Sets are matched to their own era below — a Spark of Rebellion pack is never described by a Legends of the Force structure.
Basis: Star Wars: Unlimited is the one Pack Lab game with OFFICIAL published rates for most of the pack: FFG states the 16-card structure, the Legendary 1:8 rare slot, the hyperspace floors, the Prestige 1:18 overlay and the Showcase leader 1:288. Where FFG is silent — the internal common/uncommon mix of a foil slot, the leader rarity split — the slot is labelled ASSUMED here instead of being presented as fact. Serialised cards, Prestige foils and event promos have no published slot rate and are not simulated.

Not drawn in this structure: Foil Common, Foil Uncommon, Foil Rare, Foil Legendary — no published share exists for it here, so we roll nothing for it.
Star Wars: Unlimited has no god packs and no box toppers. Pack Lab simulates neither.
Pack Lab states only the floors FFG publishes and claims no additional box guarantee.
Read those tables as two separate claims. The frequency of a slot is one thing; what can appear inside it is another, and the provenance chip tells you which of the two somebody actually published.
Per box and per case
The question behind every pull-rate search is really "what should a box give me". Here is that arithmetic, done on the rates above and labelled for what it is.
| Tier | Per pack | Per box (24 packs) | Per case (6 boxes) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 8.00 | 192 | 1,152 |
| Uncommon | 2.68 | 64.4 | 386 |
| Base (Common) | 0.833 | 20.0 | 120 |
| Leader (Common) | 0.750 | 18.0 | 108 |
| Rare | 0.875 | 21.0 | 126 |
| Hyperspace Common | 1.00 | 24.0 | 144 |
| Hyperspace Uncommon | 0.250 | 6.00 | 36.0 |
| Base (Rare ability) | 0.167 | 4.01 | 24.0 |
| Leader (Rare) | 0.250 | 6.00 | 36.0 |
| Legendary | 0.125 | 3.00 | 18.0 |
| Hyperspace Rare / Legendary | 0.067 | 1.60 | 9.60 |
| Hyperspace Foil Common | 0.500 | 12.0 | 72.0 |
| Hyperspace Foil Uncommon | 0.400 | 9.60 | 57.6 |
| Hyperspace Foil Rare / Legendary | 0.100 | 2.40 | 14.4 |
| Prestige | 0.056 | 1.33 | 8.01 |
| Leader (Showcase) | 1 per 288 | 0.083 | 0.500 |
Derived by InkSight: these are the rates above multiplied out, nothing more. They are averages over many boxes, not contents of your box — no publisher here seeds a box to hit an average, and a slot that averages 0.4 per box is absent from most boxes.
Averages hide the shape of a box. Most of what you open is the middle of the ladder, and the middle of the ladder is where a deck actually comes from.
What each tier is worth — which is not how often it appears
Rates tell you frequency. Prices tell you worth. Keeping them apart is the whole discipline: a tier can be common and expensive, or scarce and cheap, and only one of those two numbers is published by anyone.
What nobody knows
Every guide on the internet prints the rates it has. This is the list of rates that do not exist — the printings we refuse to estimate, with the reason attached. Our simulator excludes all of them.
- Serialised cards and Prestige foil printings — rate unknown — not simulated. FFG publishes no slot rate for either; they are hit-or-miss inserts.
- Non-leader Showcase printings, hyperspace bases and Special-rarity cards — rate unknown — not simulated. No published per-slot share.
- Weekly Play, Judge, Organized Play, Sector/Regional and Galactic Championship promos, Intro Battle decks — rate unknown — not simulated. Event and preconstructed product, not booster contents.
Try the rates yourself
Every rate on this page is the rate our simulator rolls, because both read the same registry. Rip a simulated pack and watch the distribution do what the table says it will over a few hundred packs — it is the cheapest way to see how rarely a "1 in 288" actually lands.
We update this page whenever the registry changes, and a build gate fails loudly if the two ever disagree — so a rate here is never a stale copy of a rate we corrected somewhere else.
Common questions
Are these official Star Wars: Unlimited pull rates?
Partly, and the page says which is which. FFG publishes the 16-card structure, the 1:8 Legendary rare slot, the hyperspace floors, the 1:18 Prestige overlay and the 1:288 Showcase leader. The splits inside the leader and foil slots are not published; those rows are labelled assumed.
How many Legendaries are in a Star Wars: Unlimited box?
A rare slot upgrades to a Legendary at the published 1:8 rate, so a 24-pack box averages 3.00 Legendaries. That is an average from a published rate, not a guarantee — boxes are not seeded to it.
How often do you pull a hyperspace card?
FFG publishes hyperspace floors per slot rather than one pack-level rate, so the guide lists them slot by slot. The hyperspace rare-or-legendary floor is published as a single combined figure, which is why we draw across that merged pool instead of inventing a rare-versus-legendary split.
What are the odds of a serialised card?
Unknown. FFG has never published a slot rate for serialised or Prestige foil printings, so we do not simulate them and we do not estimate them.
Is a Star Wars: Unlimited booster box worth it?
Price is checkable, contents are probabilistic. The box price and the per-pack cost on this page come from the daily snapshot; whether that beats buying singles depends on the specific cards you want, and singles are always the certain route.
