The four base rarities
Every Riftbound card has a rarity gem on the bottom of the frame. Ordered most-to-least common in a booster:

Chase treatments (across rarities)
Rarity tells you how often a card prints. Treatment tells you how it looks. The same card can exist at four price points depending on treatment.
Showcase
Full-art foil treatment with extended borders and painterly art crops. Roughly one Showcase card per booster box. In our data Showcase is a single rarity covering three print styles rather than separate tiers: Overnumbered cards numbered past the set size (Ahri — Nine-Tailed Fox is 303/298), Alternate Art, and starred Signature prints (299*/298). Median Showcase price in the August 9, 2026 daily snapshot is $57.91 across 261 priced cards.
Signature
The Legend chase card — champion cards printed with a textured full-art treatment and the champion's signature-move flourish. Every Legend has a base printing and a rarer Signature version; Signatures are what most players are opening boxes hoping for. There is no Lux Signature printing in our catalog. In the August 9, 2026 daily snapshot the Signature prints sit far into four figures: Ahri — Inquisitive (Signature) $3,089.05, Ahri — Nine-Tailed Fox (Signature) $3,000.96, and Lee Sin — Blind Monk (Signature) $1,186.66.
Prize Wall metals
Riot's tournament-exclusive metallic printings — physically stamped metal cards handed out at Store Championships, Regionals, and community-run events. These function as Riftbound's grail tier: the single highest-priced Riftbound card in the August 9, 2026 daily snapshot is one of them, Ezreal — Prodigal Explorer (Metal) at $3,499.99. We can't show you one. No Prize Wall metal in our catalog has a scanned product image on TCGplayer — the entire Riftbound Organized Play promotional set is listed without photos, which is what you'd expect from cards that only ever changed hands at sanctioned events.

Promo cards
Riftbound has a growing pool of promotional cards: store-championship participation cards, prerelease-kit exclusives, and Riot-collaboration promos (Arcane-themed, K/DA cosmetic reskins, etc). Most sit under $10; a handful of scarcer prerelease promos have crept above $40. Our data flags promos with a distinct Promo rarity tag so they don't distort main-set averages.
Pull rates and expected box value
Riot has not published official pull rates. Community aggregate data from thousands of box openings puts main-set Epics near 1 per 3 packs, Showcase cards near 1 per box, and Signature-tier prints near 1 per 2 boxes. Our Pack Lab uses these community-derived odds and labels the simulation as such — simulated odds, not official Riot pull rates.
As with every TCG, most of a set's value concentrates in 10–20 cards, so the average box underperforms its MSRP in expected value once you subtract friction. Boxes are for the ripping experience; singles are for building decks.
What to keep vs sell from packs you open
- Keep: every Epic, Showcase, Signature, and Prize Wall pull — even if you don't play the champion. Signature prints of popular Legends drift upward for months after release.
- Sleeve immediately: anything above ~$20. A fingerprint on a Signature print is an expensive mistake.
- Trade / sell: extra Rares of Legends you don't play. Locals and Discord trade servers are the highest-margin channels.
- Grade: only Prize Wall metals and top Signatures in pack-fresh condition. Grading fees ($20–30 per card) eat most of the margin on Rares.
