Ink Market Index — full history
The index measures the direction of the Riftbound market as a whole, not any single card. Regime is a 7-day vs 14-day moving-average crossover on the index itself.
Why there is no since-inception figure here. This series starts at Riftbound’s launch, so it includes the price-discovery period when cards were receiving their first real asks — not market appreciation. That makes it not comparable to a mature market, so we do not publish a since-inception return for Riftbound. The ±60% daily clamp fired on 27 of the first 47 days, which is the signature of price discovery rather than trading. We show the real series and the 7-vs-14-day regime instead, and we do not rebase the start date to produce a tidier number.
Methodology. Equal-weight chained daily return index over the top-100 Riftbound cards by current price. Base 1000 at the earliest snapshot in the series; daily moves clamped to ±60% so one thin-market print can't distort the curve. Built from real price_history snapshots only — no synthetic levels, no back-filled days. Full methodology →
Unusual price moves
Cards moving more today than their own history predicts — a z-score against each card's daily-move standard deviation over its last 14+ snapshots. We have no sales-volume data: nothing here says anything about units sold.
