Ravensburger announced [Format Coconut] today, July 28, 2026 — a new multiplayer format for Disney Lorcana built around a single signature card, three ink colours, and a deck where almost everything is limited to one copy. It is live now as an open beta, not a finished product: the 18 beta [Coconut] cards are digital-only, browsable in the Disney Lorcana companion app, and Ravensburger says they will be adjusted based on player feedback.
Format Coconut is designed for 3-4 players and games run to 25 lore rather than the usual 20. The name is a placeholder — the brackets in [Format Coconut] and [Coconut] are Ravensburger's own signal that neither name is final.

The deckbuilding rules
- Pick one [Coconut] card. It sits outside your deck as your signature card and defines the deck. There are 18 to choose from in the beta, three in each ink.
- Match at least one ink to your Coconut. Your deck may use up to three ink colours, and one of them must be your Coconut card's ink.
- Build at least 60 cards, singleton. Every card in the deck is limited to a single copy — with one exception.
- The exception: your Coconut's character. Each [Coconut] card names an existing Lorcana character and reads "You can have up to 4 copies of [this character] in your deck." That one character, and only that one, can be run as a playset.
How a game plays
Games are built for 3-4 players and run to 25 lore. Your [Coconut] card is not shuffled into your deck — it sits alongside it as the deck's signature card, so the character it names is effectively your reliable engine in a format where nothing else can be drawn twice.

What singleton means for card prices
This is where a format announcement stops being news and starts being a market event. Four things follow directly from the rules above:
- Singleton flattens playset demand. A Constructed deck buys four copies of a staple. A Coconut deck buys one. If Coconut absorbs play time, that is a structurally smaller order for the same card.
- The 18 named characters are the exception. They are the only cards in the format that a deck still buys four of, and 18 specific characters now have a reason to be bought as playsets that they did not have yesterday.
- Breadth beats depth. A 60-card singleton deck needs 60 different cards. That pulls demand toward wide, cheap card pools — bulk commons and uncommons that Constructed ignores — rather than concentrating it on a handful of chase rares.
- Digital-only caps the immediate effect. The Coconut cards themselves cannot be bought, sold or graded. Nothing about this announcement creates a new physical collectible today.
This is a beta of an unofficial, unreleased format. Ravensburger has said the Coconut cards will change based on feedback and has described physical printings only as a "someday" possibility. Any price move in the next few weeks is speculation on a format that may not ship in this shape. We are not forecasting price targets for these cards, and we will not publish one until we have real snapshot data showing a sustained move.
