Privacy Policy

InkSight collects the minimum it needs to run the site. Here's exactly what that means, in plain language. This policy applies to every game section of InkSight — all seven games we cover: Disney Lorcana, One Piece, Riftbound, Star Wars: Unlimited, Gundam Card Game, Digimon Card Game and Dragon Ball Super: Fusion World.

Who we are

InkSight is operated by Michael Sychrava, an individual doing business as InkSight TCG. Michael Sychrava is the data controller for the personal information collected through this site and is responsible for the InkSight service. The site is operated from California, United States.

The short version

• We collect your email only if you subscribe to the Ink Report newsletter.
• We log basic page-view data (path, referrer, browser user-agent, a short-lived session id) to understand which pages people use. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand anonymous traffic patterns. You can opt out of GA4 via Google's Browser Opt-out Add-on.
• Your collection, watchlist, and preferences live in your browser by default. If you create an optional account and sign in, that data is also backed up to our cloud so it syncs across your devices — see Accounts & cloud sync below.
• Affiliate links to TCGplayer, eBay, and Amazon may set their own cookies when you click them — that's outside our control and governed by their privacy policies.
• We do not sell personal data.

Information we collect

Email signups (Ink Report)

If you submit the newsletter form on the home or Market page, we store your email address with a "source" tag (so we know which page you signed up from) in our database, hosted on our backend provider. We use it only to send the Ink Report newsletter and product updates from InkSight. We do not share or sell it.

Page-view logs

When you load a page, we record: the path you visited, the page you came from (HTTP referrer, if your browser sends it), your browser's user-agent string, and a randomly generated session id stored in your browser's sessionStorage that rotates after 30 minutes of inactivity. We use this only to count traffic and understand which pages are working. We do not attempt to identify individual users from this data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-F7H71V5R86) to understand how visitors interact with InkSight in aggregate. GA4 collects page views, interaction events, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device/browser information. The data is used only to improve the site and is not tied to any other personal information we collect. For more details, see Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Local browser storage

When you are signed out, features like your collection, watchlist, Pack Lab progress, and preferences save state to your browser's localStorage. That data stays on your device and is not transmitted to InkSight. Clearing site data in your browser removes it.

Accounts and cloud sync

Accounts are optional — InkSight works fully without one, and your data stays on your device until you choose to sign in. If you create an account, here is exactly what changes:

Provider

Authentication and cloud storage are handled by Supabase (provisioned through Lovable Cloud), our backend database provider. Your account data is stored on their infrastructure on our behalf.

Sign-in

Accounts use email and password. Your password is hashed by Supabase before storage — InkSight never sees, stores, or has access to your raw password.

What we store when you are signed in

• Your email address (your account identifier).
• Your collection — the cards you have added, with quantity, finish, any cost basis you enter, and dates.
• Your watchlist — the cards you are watching and any target prices.
• Your preferences and periodic snapshots of your collection's total value so you can track it over time.

This data is synced to your account so it follows you across devices. It is used only to provide these features to you — we do not sell it, and it is never used for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Your cloud data is kept until you delete it or delete your account. On the Account page, "Delete my account and all cloud data" permanently removes your account and every collection item, watchlist entry, preference, and value snapshot stored in the cloud. Deleting your account does not touch the copy still saved locally in your browser.

Affiliate / third-party links

When you click an affiliate link (e.g. "Buy on TCGplayer", "Find on eBay", "Check on Amazon"), the destination retailer may set cookies or collect data per their own privacy policy. InkSight does not see your TCGplayer / eBay / Amazon account information. We only see, via the affiliate network's reporting, that a click or purchase was attributed to us.

Cookies

InkSight itself sets only the technical storage described above (a session id in sessionStorage, plus any preferences/watchlist state in localStorage). Third-party retailers you click through to set their own cookies independently. InkSight runs no ad-tech vendors, so no advertising cookies are set on this site.

Advertising — none

InkSight keeps its tools ad-free — no advertising on card pages, market pages, collection, watchlist, Deck Lab, Pack Lab or anywhere in Pro. Articles and guides may carry clearly labeled advertising or sponsorship to fund the writing. There is no ad network, no ad-personalisation cookie, and no advertising consent vendor on this site today. Our revenue comes from affiliate links (disclosed above) and InkSight Pro subscriptions.

How we use the data

• Operate the site, including delivering the Ink Report to subscribers.
• Understand which features are useful and which are broken.
• Comply with legal obligations if they apply.

We do not sell personal data, and we build no advertising profiles of any kind.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from the Ink Report at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, or by getting in touch via our contact form.
• Clear local storage via your browser's site-data settings to wipe watchlist / session data.
• Request deletion of your email and any associated records via our contact form.

Payment data — Paddle (merchant of record)

If you subscribe to InkSight Pro, the payment is handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment details, billing address and tax location in order to take the payment, issue your receipt, and calculate any applicable sales tax or VAT. Paddle is the seller of record for that transaction and acts as an independent controller of the payment data it collects.

InkSight never receives or stores your full card number or any other complete payment credential. What we store on our side is limited to a subscription/customer reference supplied by Paddle and your entitlement expiry date, so we know whether your membership is active.

Children

InkSight is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date below. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
