Scoring, in one panel
Percentage error, never an exact match — a $4 card and a $400 card should be equally guessable. Five points per round, twenty-five for a perfect run. Each band carries an emoji, a name and a number, so colour is never the only signal.

Why these cut-points
Inside 5% you have effectively called the market. Inside 10% you would price a trade correctly. Inside 25% you have the right tier of card. Beyond 50% you were in the wrong ballpark. Every band still scores at least a point, because being wrong about a card's price is normal and the run should stay worth finishing.
Where the figure comes from
The figure is a TCGplayer market price from our latest daily snapshot. Not lowest ask — one relister can move an ask overnight and that would make a round unfair. Not sold prices, and not live: snapshots are taken once a day, and each reveal prints the snapshot date it came from.
A snapshot price is a dated reference point, not "the value" of a card. What a card actually sells for depends on condition, printing, timing and where you sell it.
Which cards can appear
- Price history rated verified or moderate confidence. Thin-market, presale and outlier listings are excluded — they are exactly the prices nobody could reasonably guess, and the raw feed genuinely contains five-figure novelty asks.
- Market price between $3 and $2,000. Below the floor a round is coin-flip noise on a bulk common; above the ceiling it is a lottery.
- Serial-numbered, metal, signature and prize-wall listings are excluded: those prices describe a specialty listing rather than the card in the picture.
- Rounds ramp: the five cards are drawn one per price band from the eligible pool, cheapest first, and no card repeats inside 30 days for a given mode.
Modes
Each mode has its own puzzle and its own streak. Riftbound's liquid pool is small — a few hundred eligible cards — so cards there will come round again over the months. That is a property of the market's size, not a bug, and we would rather say so than quietly pad the pool with prices we do not trust.
Fair play
The card's name and set are withheld until you have locked in your guess, and the answer is not in the page before then — it is fetched per round, after submission. There is no leaderboard, because a browser-side score cannot be verified and a fake ranking would be worse than none. Your streak lives in your own browser; no account, ever.
